Day 1
8:00am Depart Auckland 28 princes street, Grafton, Auckland 1010 (unless otherwise arranged). Travel to Waitomo Village area. Explore the magic of the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Walk down through the limestone caves formed over millions of years and lose yourself in the starry wonderland of the Glowworm Grotto (included).
Depart for Ōtorohanga. Lunch (own arrangements): buy lunch in Ōtorohanga or bring a packed lunch. Enter the Ōtorohanga Kiwi House and get a personalised wildlife experience. See NZ’s national bird, the Kiwi being fed. Then enjoy a stroll around New Zealand’s largest free-flight dome aviary viewing many different species of New Zealand native bird life.
